The Georgia Southern Men’s basketball team took care of business Thursday night inside Hanner Fieldhouse with an 86-57 over the visiting Troy Trojans.
The Trojans jumped out to a 21-11 lead midway through the first half, forcing Head Coach, Mark Byington to call a timeout. The Eagles responded with a 25-0 run of their own and closed the half on a 31-4 run over the final 10 minutes of the first half.
“I love the fact that when I looked at our guys, they were looking right back and they were fine,” said Byington. “There was no panic.”
The Eagles kept the momentum in the second half, outscoring the Trojans 45-32. They shot 57 percent from the field and forced 15 Trojan turnovers.
Redshirt junior guard, Quan Jackson led all scorers with 21 points in 35 minutes, making 9 of his 10 shots from inside the arch. Sophomore guard, Isiah Crawley was right behind him with 18 points of his own.
The Eagles improved 13-9 on the season (7-4). They are back inside Hanner Fieldhouse this Saturday to host South Alabama at 4 p.m.
